Here in Cambridge, Massachusetts, there is a winter storm warning in effect for the next 24+ hours. It's just starting to snow right now.

I love this picture I took of our house during a winter storm several years ago.

For me, our home is most inviting when sheltering from a storm. When we are making hot chocolate and standing by the radiator for a blast of heat. When we are popping popcorn and watching a family movie together. When we are staying up later than usual - and getting up later than normal the next day. When the world outside our window is a winter wonderland. When the snow is falling and the sound of silence is something magical. When we are inside and warm and comfortable.

Here comes the snow. We're excited. And grateful for our home.
