96: Joe Rand - Resilience

I am a real estate agent. Recently, I read Joe Rand's book How to be a Great Real Estate Agent (2019). Towards the end of the book, Joe goes through the ten elements of a great client experience.

Number 9 on Joe Rand's list is RESILIENCE.

"No matter how good you are," Rand says,"you're going to mess something up sometimes. That's okay. That happens. The question is what do you do next."

Rand says you can turn any situation around. And you can. If you are resilient.

The definition of "resilience" is "the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness."

Once, I accidentally posted my vacation week incorrectly in my own online calendar: I was going away the week I had scheduled a seller’s home to come on the market!

When I realized my error, I needed to contact my next seller client and tell them we needed to adjust the listing timeline - and thereafter I needed to reschedule the staging date and the photo shoot date and the listing date and the open house schedule – all now much sooner than expected.

That was not an easy call for me to make to my seller client, or an easy schedule to revise quickly on short notice.

Mission accomplished. Listing listed. Resilience.
