63: Chesapeake Shores

On a family vacation, we started watching the Hallmark Channel series Chesapeake Shores on Netflix. The season spans three seasons and includes 31 episodes.

By the time we got back home, I was hooked. We sat down one night to continue watching where we left off, only to discover the series was no longer on Netflix.

In the end, I purchased access to the three seasons via YouTube. Clearly, I was hooked.

Before watching this series, we traveled to Easton, Maryland, on the eastern shore of Chesapeake Bay, for a family wedding. Watching Chesapeake Shores felt like returning to Easton. I say this, even though the series was filmed in Canada, in a place pretending to be on Chesapeake Bay.. Ah, the power of pretending.

Chesapeake Shores is a family drama. It's all about the stories of a father and a mother and their five adult children. And it's also all about thhe stories of the many other lives that intersect with their own. It's very well done, if you are into this kind of thing. And over time, their many stories build on themselves and get richer, as the characters change and evolve over the many episodes..

I didn't see the Hallmark Channel playing a role in my adult life. But here it is. And I'm enjoying it.

Don't even get me started on the Hallmark Channel Christmas films:)

So there you have it. Hooked on Hallmark. Check out Chesapeake Shores. If you are a Hallmark fan, you will be glad you did.
